FAQs
What can I expect from therapy?
Welcome. I’m glad you are here. Regardless of whether you have been in therapy before or this is your first time reaching out, I am so proud of you for making this far. Life can get complicated and sometimes we all need a little extra support. How psychotherapy differs from peer and social support is that we are trained to be unbiased and nonjudgmental and use evidence-based tools to support you. You don’t need to be in crisis or have a major disorder to seek therapy. Essentially, a therapist offers a different way of looking at things – perhaps a perspective you haven’t yet considered, which makes it easier to point you in the right direction, and find the solutions you’re looking for in life.
How long can I expect to be in therapy?
Although the duration of treatment largely depends on your goals, you can likely expect us to work together for a few months at least. I see most clients on a weekly basis and sessions are typically 45-50 minutes long.
Are sessions confidential?
Your privacy and the confidentiality of your data is of utmost importance to me. Sessions are totally private and whatever we discuss in therapy, stays in therapy, barring special considerations that I am legally and ethically obligated to report. I use a HIPAA compliant platform for telehealth and all client contact and records.
How much can I expect to pay per session?
Please contact me for my current rates. I am credentialed with Aetna and can assist you in claiming your out of network (OON) benefits via your insurance.
